Cranbrook-Kingswood going down by a goal early in the 1st period responded with 4 unanswered goals to take a 4 - 1 lead over Big Rapids in the Division 3 State Final game at Compuware Arena. Big Rapids' Thomas Hancock notched a couple goals in the 2nd to come within 1 but the Cranes stood tall and held on for a 4 - 3 victory which entitles the Cranes to hoist their 14th State Championship Banner. The Cranes scoring was led by Aaron Rivkin (2 goals, 1 assist) and Patrick Brown (1 goal, 2 assists). The game winner was notched by Shota Hotta. Cranbrook out shot Big Rapids 24 - 14.

Catholic Central faced off against Howell in the Division 1 final. The Shamrocks' Tony Thomas wasted no time in getting the 1st goal less than a minute into the game. With an aggressive forecheck and solid defense the Shamrocks kept Howell shotless in the 1st period. With a 3 - 0 lead starting the 3rd, CC's Brent Darnell found the back of the net 31 seconds in to take a 4 - 0 lead. The Shamrocks would go on to score 3 more in the 3rd to claim their 6th state title since joining the MIHL. The Shamrocks scoring was led by Brad Wilhelm with 2 goals and 1 assist. CC out shot Howell 35 - 5.
