The Michigan High School Hockey Coaches Association (MHSHCA) has announced its All State Selections for the 2009- 2010 Season. As for the MIHL, 31 players received recognition and two coaches were named Coach of The Year in their respective divisions (Dan Barry, De La Salle, Division II and Andy Weidenbach, Cranbrook, Division III). Patrick Brown, Cranbrook, and Joey VanAntwerp, Brother Rice were named to the MHSHCA Dream Team.
Additionally, 31 senior players from the MIHL were named Academic All State for maintaining a 3.50 GPA. Four schools were also awarded Academic All State Team status for achieving an annual 3.00 GPA average for the team. U of D Jesuit was ranked #1 in the state with a team average of 3.68 GPA and it is their 15th consecutive year of being honored as an Academic All State Team. Brother Rice, De La Salle and Cranbrook were the other recipients of this honor.
